The second part of "Case Tullo", my Star Wars Fanfiction, is finished. This middle act has a lot more action than the first and has some difficult scenarios for our heroes. I hope you enjoy it!

About the High Ground...

Few lines in the Star Wars  prequels are as simultaneously iconic and confusing as Obi-Wan Kenobi's declaration to Anakin in Revenge of the Sith  that "It's over...I have the high ground." Memes galore (including many of my own making) and endless jokes have their genesis in this line. But why did Obi-Wan say it? Was it simply more of George Lucas's infamously bad dialogue? Possibly, but I want to argue otherwise. I think this is best accomplished by first seeking to understand all the reasons Obi-Wan did not say it for. First, I don't think he expected Anakin to be like "Dang it! You got me bro!" and put down his lightsaber. Nor did he actually believe the slightly higher elevation granted some kind of special advantage. It might help but it is hardly decisvie in personal, hand to hand combat. Trek Talk Tuesday #2: Insufficient Data

Let's talk some Star Trek TNG . I've said before that the typical story of a TNG episode tends to be duller than those of The Original Series. Just last week, I saw an episode of each, and in TNG, the entire story revolved around a girl who turns out to be a Q (powerful being from another dimension for uninitiated), and how she made her choice between being human and being a...Q. It's decidedly dull. On the other hand, in TOS, Kirk and Spock (aided by historical figures of Earth and Vulcan history) are pitted against four villains of history in a death-match by curious aliens who wish to observe the battle of good v evil. Cheesy yes but more engaging. Because of the vanilla flavor of the week to week storylines themselves in TNG, what makes the show memorable is a handful of key characters - Piccard and Worf especially. Last Jedi Review and Star Wars Movie Rankings

This post contains spoilers, and if you not seen Star Wars: The Last Jedi  yet why the heck are you reading a review, just go watch it and make your own judgment before reading my thoughts.  NOTE: I've updated this review and ranking after further reflection and conversions as of Feburary 22nd, 2018. Having now watched the newest installment of the Star Wars  saga three times and taken some time to let it stew in my mind, I feel ready to offer my thoughts and opinions on this movie and conclude with my updated rankings of all the live action films. I want to be as fair, nuanced and insightful as I can. The Last Jedi  is a difficult movie to evaluate because the pros and cons and so connected and so extreme that sorting it out is a mess.
